Your question

How many days leave in a year

Under section 23 of the Labour Act, an employee is entitled to at least four consecutive weeks of annual leave with full remuneration for each annual leave cycle. The entitlement is calculated according to the number of days ordinarily worked per week. 1

For example, this means 20 working days for a five-day work week or 24 working days for a six-day work week. If the employee does not work a fixed number of days per week, the entitlement is based on the average number of days worked. 1, 3

The 2025 regulations state 24 paid working days per annum for the relevant employee contract, but where that provision conflicts with the Labour Act, the Act prevails. 2
